2011 GAC WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS (PDF)

SEARCY, Ark. –
Harding University placed all seven of its runners in the top 20 to win the inaugural Great American Conference Women’s Cross Country Championship on Saturday at the Wyldewood Retreat Center in Searcy.

Four of Harding’s seven runners finished in top 10 in the 5-kilometer race, highlighted by a first place finish from Gladys Kimtai (17:18.07) and a second place finish from Eva Zaborowska (17:30.72). Mary Samoei (17:49.80) finished fourth, and Dallis Bailey (18:36.85) finished eighth to round out HU’s top 10 finishers. Harding finished with a total of 27 points.

East Central placed second in the event with a final point total of 39, highlighted by fifth, sixth and seventh place individual finishes from Amber Walker (17:56.09), Samantha Bartlett (18:08.19) and ReGina Germaine (18:31.49). Colleta Songol rounded out ECU’s top 10 finishers with a time of 18:45.24.

Arkansas Tech used a pair of top 10 finishes to place third with a total of 109 points. Cheryl Nolan led the way for ATU with a final time of 17:44.86 for a third place finish. Olivia Campbell finished ninth with a time of 18:38.53.

Southern Arkansas finished fourth with a total of 111 points, followed in order by Southwestern Oklahoma State (112), Ouachita Baptist (167), Henderson State (191), Southeastern Oklahoma State and Arkansas-Monticello (275).
