Harding’s DeAntra Scott (pictured left) and Arkansas Tech’s Natalia Santos (pictured right) have been named the Great American Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball Players of the Week for their performances in the third week of the 2011-12 season.

MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Harding junior guard DeAntra Scott has been named the GAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after leading the Bisons to a 71-68 win over Louisiana-Monroe this past Saturday, giving Harding its first ever win over an NCAA Division I program since joining the NCAA Division II ranks in 1997. The Gosnell, Ark. native scored 24 points in only 25 minutes of action in the win over the Warhawks, sinking 6-of-10 shots from the field, including a 5-of-6 outing from three-point range. His scoring was finalized at the free-throw line, where he was 7-of-7. Scott also added six rebound, two blocked shots and one steal to his final totals.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Arkansas Tech senior forward Natalia Santos has been named the GAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week after leading the nationally third-ranked Golden Suns to a 2-0 week. The Sao Paulo, Brazil native averaged 31 points per game in ATU’s wins over Christian Brothers and St. Edward’s, while making 60 percent of her shots. Santos started the week with a 23-point outing at home in a 95-40 blowout win over Christian Brothers, making 9-of-17 shots from the field and 4-of-6 from the free-throw line. She also totaled four rebounds in that win. After breaking for the Thanksgiving holiday, Santos led the Golden Suns in a 69-55 come-from-behind victory on the road over St. Edward’s with a career-high 39 points. She was 15-of-23 from the field and 8-of-8 from the foul line, while also collecting 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the season.
