RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. –
Arkansas Tech’s Johnie Davis (pictured left) and Southwestern Oklahoma State’s Darcie Dick (pictured right) have been named the Great American Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball Players of the Week after leading their respective teams to a pair of conference wins over the past week.

MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Arkansas Tech junior guard Johnie Davis has earned his second GAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honor after averaging over 30 points in conference road wins over Southwestern Oklahoma State (78-72) and East Central (85-71). In 75 minutes of court time throughout the pair of games, the Canton, Ohio native poured in a total of 66 points for an average of 33 points per game. He started the week with a 35-point outing in the win over SWOSU, besting his own GAC record of 33 points earlier this season in a win over Mid-America Christian. He made 6-of-15 shots from the field in the win over the Bulldogs, but the majority of his points came from the charity stripe, sinking 22-of-23 attempts for a school and GAC record in free throws made in a single game. Two days later, Davis added his third 30-point performance of the season by making 9-of-20 field goal attempts and 7-of-9 free throws in the win over East Central. Of those nine made field goals, six were from three-point range. Davis finished the week shooting 42.9 percent from the field (15-of-35), 46.7 percent on three-pointers (7-of-15) and 90.6 percent on free throws (29-of-32).

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Southwestern Oklahoma State senior guard Darcie Dick has been named the GAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week after leading her team to home wins over then-ranked No. 1 Arkansas Tech and Harding, vaulting the Bulldogs into a tie for second place in the league standings. The Cordell, Okla. native racked up a two-game total of 42 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and seven steals. Her 21-point weekly scoring average started in an 85-82 upset over the nation’s top-ranked team Arkansas Tech this past Thursday. Dick sunk 9-of-17 shots from the field, including 6-of-10 from three-point range, for a game-high 26 points. Also in that win, she put three sixes on the box score in the rebounds, assists and steals categories. Two days later in a 66-61 win over Harding, Dick made 5-of-16 shots from the field, including a trio of three-pointers for 16 points. She also totaled six rebounds in that win. For the week, Dick shot 42 percent from the field (14-of-33), 50 percent on three-pointers (9-of-18) and 55 percent on foul shots (5-of-9).
