GAC BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (12/24/2012)

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas-Monticello’s Kori Forge and East Central’s Lindsay McCown received the Great American Conference’s Men’s and Women’s Basketball Players of the Week honors for their performances in the seventh week of the 2012-13 regular season.
GAC MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kori Forge, Arkansas-Monticello, G, Sr., Atlanta, Ga.
Forge claimed the second GAC Player of the Week honor of his career as he scored a career-high 36 points - and set GAC single-game record in the process - in the Boll Weevils’ 79-71 victory against Southwest Baptist on Monday. He connected on 6-of-12 from beyond the 3-point arc and made 6-of-7 from 2-point range. Additionally, he dished out eight assists, a career high.
GAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Lindsay McCown, East Central, F, Sr., Heavender, Okla.
McCown averaged 17.5 PPG and 9.5 RPG in two victories against teams - Mid-America Christian and St. Mary’s - that entered their games with ECU with a combined 18-3 record. She set season highs for points (24), assists (4), field goals (8), three-point field goals (2) and free throws (6) against St. Mary's. She tallied her second career double-double at Mid-America Christian with 11 points and a career-best 11 rebounds. ECU is now 8-2 on the season, matching their winning total from a year ago.

- Kristen Celsor, F, Jr., Harding (Totaled 20 pts and 11 rebs in 57-53 win vs Christian Brothers; 16 of 20 pts came in 2nd half)
- Caitlyn Spurgeon, G, Fr., Arkansas Tech (Notched career-high 18 pts vs LeMoyne Owen; Averaged 14.5 PPG in two wins)
