GAC BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (1/21/2013)

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Harding’s Zach Roddenberry and Kristen Celsor received the Great American Conference’s Men’s and Women’s Basketball Players of the Week honors for their performances in the 11th week of the 2012-13 regular season.
GAC MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Zach Roddenberry, Harding, F, Sr., Conyers, Ga.
Roddenberry claimed his fourth GAC Player of the Week honor of the season by averaging 18.5 points and 10.0 rebounds in wins against Southern Arkansas and Arkansas-Monticello that pushed the Bisons into solo possession of first place. He scored 15 points and matched a GAC single-game record with 16 rebounds in an overtime win at SAU. Two days later, the fueled a Harding come-from-behind victory against the Boll Weevils as he totaled 22 points on 9-for-10 shooting.
GAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kristen Celsor, Harding, F, Jr., Searcy, Ark.
Celsor earned the first GAC Player of the Week honor of her career after turning in a pair of stellar performances. She scored 21 points in only 24 minutes of against Southern Arkansas. She grabbed nine rebounds and shot 6-for7 from the field. Two days later, she scored 27 points and grabbed 12 rebounds against Arkansas-Monticello. She rejected a career-high four shots against the Cotton Blossoms.

- Colt Fason, G/F, So., Ouachita Baptist (Connected on 12-of-19 from the floor for the week while scoring 13 points per game)
- Melvin Haynes, G, Jr., Henderson State (Scored career-high 30 points and made eight 3-point field goals in win vs NWOSU)
- Chris Roussell, G, Sr., Southeastern Oklahoma State (Scored 21 points to go along with seven rebounds in win vs SNU)
- Jared Williamson, G, Sr., Arkansas Tech (Two late steals sealed win vs SAU; averaged 14.5 PPG 3.5 RPG and 3.0 APG)

- Destiny Smith, F, Sr., Henderson State (Posted consecutive games with at least 20 points and eight rebounds; shot 65.2 pct)
- Jessica Weatherford, F, Sr., Arkansas Tech (Connected on 14-of-23 shots in averaging 18.5 PPG; Added 8.5 RPG and 2.0 BPG)
