GAC BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (1/7/2013)

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Tech’s Will Paul and Jessica Weatherford received the Great American Conference’s Men’s and Women’s Basketball Players of the Week honors for their performances in the ninth week of the 2012-13 regular season.
GAC MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Will Paul, Arkansas Tech, C, Sr., Corpus Christi, Texas
Paul claimed his second career GAC Player of the Week as he averaged 21.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in home wins against Northwestern Oklahoma State and Southwestern Oklahoma State. He shot 57.7 percent from the floor and 53.8 percent from the 3-point arc. He opened his week with 24 points and five rebounds against the Rangers. Two days later, he poured in 19 points with eight rebounds in a 69-52 win against the Bulldogs.
GAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jessica Weatherford, Arkansas Tech, F, Sr., Bonnerdale, Ark.
Weatherford earned her second GAC Player of the Week honor of the season as she helped the Golden Suns improve to 6-0 at home. She averaged 25.0 points and 9.5 rebounds in wins against Northwestern Oklahoma State and Southwestern Oklahoma State. She connected on 22-of-31 from the floor (a 71.0 percent clip). She scored a career-high 33 points against the Lady Bulldogs.

- Andrew Ensley, F, Sr., Henderson State (Scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds in win vs Southern Nazarene)
- Chris Roussell, G, Sr., Southeastern Oklahoma State (Averaged 15.0 PPG and 7.5 RPG on 58.8 field goal shooting in two wins)
