ECU SWEEPS SOUTHEASTERN TO ADVANCE TO SEMIFINALS

BOX SCORE || HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - East Central advanced in the Great American Conference Volleyball Championships by defeating Southeastern Oklahoma State in three sets (25-22, 25-19 and 25-23) in Thursday's first quarterfinal contest from Summit Arena.

Danielle Essix totaled 19 kills for the Lady Tigers (12-18) and added 15 digs for her 10th double-double of the season. He hit .304 in the match, the highest mark in the contest among players with at least 10 attacks.

Jessica Wilkinson also notched a double-double, as she totaled a match-leading 36 assists, to go along with 15 digs. ECU also saw Taylor Brown equal the GAC season high for digs in a three-set match with 25.

Megan Kunkel - 12 kills, 17 digs - and Courtney Miller - 10 kills and 14 digs - led the way for Southeastern (13-18). The Savage Storm fell to 0-3 all-time in GAC Volleyball Championship play.

The Lady Tigers will face the winner of the Arkansas Tech-Southern Arkansas contest in Friday's first semifinal, set for 3:30 p.m. The match airs live at GACSportsNetwork.com.
