GAC BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (12/2/2013)

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Harding’s Kristen Celsor and Arkansas Tech’s Bobby Hatchett earned the Great American Conference’s Women’s and Men’s Basketball Players of the Week honors for their performances during the fourth week of the 2013-14 regular season.
 
GAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kristen Celsor, Harding, F, Sr., Searcy, Ark.
Celsor claimed her second-straight Player of the Week honor in leading the Lady Bisons to the fourth 6-0 start in program history. After tallying 16 points and four steals against Christian Brothers, she had her second 30-point, 10-rebound performance of the season – 33 points and 11 rebounds – in a 29-point win against No. 5 Central Missouri.
 
GAC MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Bobby Hatchett, Arkansas Tech, G, Sr., Sikeston, Mo.
Hatchett averaged 12.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game as the Wonder Boys defeated No. 21 Northeastern State and No. 6 Midwestern State at the Thanksgiving Classic. He scored 16 points against the Mustangs including four free throws in the final minute to secure the victory.

  • Tamia Grady, G, So., Arkansas-Monticello (Scored 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting in loss to West Florida)
  • Chanel Miller, F, Jr., Southern Arkansas (Averaged 15.0 PPG over three games; led SAU in scoring in two of those games)
  • Anissa Pounds, G, Fr., Arkansas Tech (Totaled 17 points with four 3-point field goals and four steals vs No. 5 Central Missouri)
  • Aungelique Sledge, G, Jr., Henderson State (Set career bests with 34 points and seven 3-pointers in win against Lyon)
 
NOTABLE MEN’S NOMINEES
  • Rod Camphor, G, Sr., Southwestern Oklahoma State (Scored 27 pts with three assists and two stls in win vs West Texas A&M)
  • Will Francis, G/F, Fr., Harding (Set a career high with 18 points on six 3-pointers against No. 21 Northeastern State)
  • Adrian Motley, F, Fr., Northwestern Oklahoma State (Recorded his first double-double – 17 points, 11 rebounds – vs Regis)
  • Brandon Wilson, F, Sr., Arkansas-Monticello (Collected 20 points, nine rebounds and two blocks in win against Maryville)
