GAC BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (2/11/2013)

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Southern Nazarene’s Aminata Fall and Arkansas-Monticello’s Kori Forge received the Great American Conference’s Men’s and Women’s Basketball Players of the Week honors for their performances in the 14th week of the 2012-13 regular season.
GAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Aminata Fall, Southern Nazarene, C, So., Dakar, Senegal
Fall followed her teammate, Oumoul Thiam, in winning the GAC Player of the Week honor. The sophomore set the school's single-game record for rebounds for the fourth time this season as she pulled down 24 against Henderson State. She came within two blocks of the single-game mark with eight against Ouachita Baptist. For the week, she averaged 16.5 points, 21.0 rebounds, 4.0 blocks and 2.5 steals as the Crimson Storm won for the eighth time in their last 10 games.
GAC MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kori Forge, Arkansas-Monticello, G, Sr., Atlanta, Ga.
Forge earned his second GAC Player of the Week honor of the season after averaging 21.0 points in two wins. He notched his third 30-point game of the season in win over Southeastern Oklahoma State. He outscored entire Savage Storm team in overtime with seven points. He led the team in rebounds, nine, in that game as well. He hit 50.0 percent of his shots for the week and made 8-of-17 from the 3-point arc.

- Katherine McBride, G, So., Southern Arkansas (Averaged 13.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists in two games)
- SaRaya Oyler, G, Sr., Southwestern Oklahoma State (Hit 10-of-20 shots and averaged 15.5 points and 4.0 rebounds)
- Roselis Silva, G, Sr., Arkansas Tech (Averaged 20.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 6.0 steals and 4.5 assists in two wins)
- Emily Williams, G, So., Southeastern Oklahoma State (Shot 57.1 percent from the floor and averaged 15.0 PPG and 8.0 RPG)

- Colby Carr, G, Jr., East Central (Recorded his 7th and 8th double-doubles of the season; Averaged 12.5 PPG and 13.0 RPG)
- Quan Conner, G, Jr., Southern Nazarene (Scored 26 points in win vs HSU; Added eight rebounds; Averaged 21.5 PPG)
- Nigel Jones, G/F, Jr., Southern Arkansas (Averaged 11.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in two games)
- Charles Mells, C, Jr., Arkansas Tech (Tied GAC single-game record with 16 rebounds in win vs Northwestern Oklahoma State)
- Chris Roussell, G, Sr., Southeastern Oklahoma State (Totaled 27 points and hit 4-of-7 3-pointers against Southern Arkansas)
- Marin Zelalija, G, Sr., Southwestern Oklahoma State (Scored 12 points in Bulldogs’ 71-60 win vs No. 18 Harding)
