RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Southern Arkansas’ Mackenzie Spanko and Hanna Gil and earned the Great American Conference’s Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week honors for the fourth week of play, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
 
GAC SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Mackenzie Spanko, Southern Arkansas, OF, So., Alba, Texas
Spanko hit .500 for the week – and .545 against Arkansas Tech. She drove in five runs and stole three bases. Her grand slam in the first inning of the third game against Arkansas Tech helped secure the series win for the Lady Muleriders. She also had two more hits in the series finale.
 
GAC SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Hanna Gil, Southern Arkansas, RHP, So., Albany, La.
Gill had a major hand in five of the Lady Muleriders' six wins over the week as she went 4-0 and picked up a save as well. In her five appearances on the week, Gill pitched 24.2 innings and struck out 32 batters while posting a 0.57 ERA. Gill also limited batters to a .134 batting average against her. In the four-game series against Arkansas Tech, Gill appeared in all four games and went 3-0 with a 0.40 ERA. In 17.2 innings pitched against Tech, Gill struck out 24 batters.

- Jessica Simmons, 2B, Fr., Southeastern Oklahoma State (Collected three hits in doubleheader split with No. 12 Emporia State)
- Monique Zevada, DH/C, Sr., Northwestern Oklahoma State (Hit three home runs in season-opener and .381 for the week)
 
NOTABLE PITCHING NOMINEES
- Mindy McElroy, RHP, Jr., Southeastern Oklahoma State (Threw a complete-game victory against No. 12 Emporia State)
- Katie Slaughter, RHP, So., Arkansas-Monticello (Earned two victories against Southern Nazarene)
