ADA, Okla. – East Central finished 1-2-3-4 and placed all five scoring runners in the top seven to record a dominating victory at the 2014 Great American Conference Men’s Cross Country Championships from the Pontotoc Technology Center.

Juan-Joel Pacheco Orozco paced the way to the Tiger victory, their third in the four-year history of the GAC. He crossed the line first in a time of 25:30.7, nearly 23 seconds ahead of the runner up, Cale Eidson, to record the largest margin of victory on the individual side in GAC history. He became the second Tiger to claim the individual title, joining Ezekiel Kissorio, who won at the inaugural event in 2011. Richard Mora took third, followed by Kaspars Briska. Bruce Bragg placed seventh to round out the ECU scoring five.
Harding finished in second for the third time since 2011. The Bisons’ top six runners finished consecutively, from eighth to 13th and within 22 seconds of each other. Lucas Goodspeed crossed the line first for Harding, in 26:53.2, two seconds ahead of Logan Green. Russell Chase followed in 10th with Matthew Rice and Lajos Farkas completing the Bisons’ top five.

Southern Arkansas finished third, led by Chris Wallace’s finishing in sixth and Mason Powers coming in 14th. Southern Nazarene, competing as a scoring team for the first time in the GAC, took fourth. Crimson Storm senior Andrew Leahey finished fifth.
Arkansas-Monticello rounded out the team scoring by finishing fifth, led by Bror Thirion’s 39th-place showing. Northwestern Oklahoma State’s runners competed as unattached individuals. Sterlin Broomfield paced the Rangers, finishing in 32nd position.
