RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Southern Nazarene’s C.J. Smith and Aminata Fall received the Great American Conference’s Men’s and Women’s Basketball Player of the Week awards for their performances during the 14th week of the 2013-14 regular season.
 
GAC MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – C.J. Smith, Southern Nazarene, G, Jr., Nassau, Bahamas
Smith established the GAC single-game scoring mark as he totaled for 39 points in the Crimson Storm’s 86-82 win against Henderson State on Thursday. He made 10-of-15 shots and connected on 16-of-17 free throws. He added five rebounds and five assists. He leads the GAC in scoring at 21.8 points per game.
 
GAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Aminata Fall, Southern Nazarene, C, Jr., Dakar, Senegal
Fall won the third GAC Player of the Week award of her career after she averaged 20.0 points, 21.5 rebounds and 5.5 blocks against Henderson State and Ouachita Baptist. She recorded the fifth 20-point, 20-rebound effort of her career with 26 points and 20 rebounds in a win against the Lady Reddies. She leads the GAC in rebounds and blocks.

  • Bruce Wright, F, Sr., Northwestern Oklahoma State (Scored career-high 22 points in handing Harding a rare home loss)
