SECOND-HALF RUN PUSHES ECU INTO GAC SEMIFINALS

 BOX SCORE || BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - After neither East Central nor Southern Arkansas could establish a lead greater than four points, the Lady Tigers went on a 13-1 run midway through the second half and went on to score a 67-57 win in Friday's second Great American Conference Women's Basketball Championships quarterfinal from Bruin Fieldhouse.
 
Ashley Robison and Dilan Webster scored all 14 points during the five-minute burst as the Lady Tigers (19-8) advanced to the semifinals for the second-straight season. Robison scored a game-high 24 points and added 10 rebounds for her second double-double this season. In three games against SAU, Robinson averaged 21.7 points per game, shot 50 percent from the floor and went 15-for-28 from the 3-point arc. Webster added 17 points and six rebounds in only 20 minutes of action.
 
Erin Walling added 10 points for the Lady Tigers and Alex Tucker handed out eight assists. As a team, ECU totaled 17 assists on 23 field goals.
 
Aarika Reyna came off the bench and led the Lady Muleriders (12-15) with 21 points in their first-ever GAC Championship appearance. She had averaged only 2.5 points against ECU during the regular season. Chanel Miller, the GAC’s Newcomer of the Year, struggled throughout the game as she went just 4-of-13 from the field for eight points. Barvion Wyatt added 10 points and nine rebounds. Thanks to Reyna and Wyatt, the Lady Muleriders’ bench outscored the Tiger reserves 42-6.
 
The Lady Muleriders, who led the GAC by forcing 11.5 steals per game, collected just five. They only caused 10 ECU turnovers, almost 12 below their season average.
 
ECU will take on Southwestern Oklahoma State in Saturday's first semifinal, set to tip at 5:45 p.m. The Lady Tigers and Lady Bulldogs split during the regular season. Each team won by double figures on their home floor. All GAC Basketball Championship contests stream on GACSportsNetwork.com.
