GAC BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (12/21/15)

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league’s men’s and women’s basketball players of the week for the sixth week of the 2015-16 season. Oklahoma Baptist’s Chandler Rickey claimed the men’s award and Southern Arkansas’ Rosa Bryant earned the women’s honor.
GAC MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Chandler Rickey, Oklahoma Baptist, F, So., Broken Bow, Oklahoma
Rickey continued his stellar play of late as he set career-bests with 24 points and 19 rebounds in a victory against Central Christian. He connected on five 3-pointers in the win. In his previous game, he came within one point of registering a triple-double.
GAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Rosa Bryant, Southern Arkansas, F, Sr., Bastrop, Louisiana
Bryant registered her sixth double-double of the season in seven games played as she scored 25 points and hauled in 12 rebounds in SAU's 104-67 win against LeMoyne-Owen. She connected on 11-of-17 from the floor. The 104 points scored by the Lady Muleriders marked the first time they have reached the century mark since 2001.

- Denarious Lockhart, Jr., F, Southern Arkansas (Averaged 13.0 points and 10.5 rebounds as he made his season debut)
- Jamal Peterson, Sr., G, Arkansas-Monticello (Made 13-of-26 shots in averaging 20.5 points in two victories)
