GAC BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (2/1/16)

 RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league’s men’s and women’s basketball players of the week for the 12th week of the 2015-16 season. Oklahoma Baptist’s Kiara Moore claimed the women’s honor and Ouachita’s Tirrell Brown earned the men’s award.
 
GAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kiara Moore, Oklahoma Baptist, G, Jr., Little Rock, Arkansas
Moore registered a career-high 24 points to go along with 10 rebounds for her first double-double in a 95-76 victory against Ouachita. Combined with a win at Henderson State, she went 9-for-11 on 3-point tries and averaged 17.5 points and 6.0 rebounds. She came into the week averaging 6.0 points and 4.3 rebounds and shooting 14.9 percent from the 3-point arc.
 
MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Tirrell Brown, Ouachita, F, Sr., Jacksonville, Arkansas
Brown helped the Tigers extend their win streak to nine as he averaged 20.0 points and made 17-of-26 shots in home wins against Oklahoma Baptist and Southern Nazarene. Brown has shot at least 50.0 percent from the floor in all nine wins. The Tigers’ nine-game win streak has tied the longest for the program since 2003-04.

- Katie Kapler, Jr., P, Ouachita (Tallied 17 points vs Oklahoma Baptist and 24 in a win against Southern Nazarene)
- Mariah Meyer, So., G, East Central (Scored career-high 13 points vs SAU; followed with career-high seven rebounds vs UAM)

- Ben Brown-White, Jr., F, East Central (Connected on 11-of-15 shots; averaged 14.0 points and 6.5 rebounds)
- Tyler Corley, Jr., G, Arkansas Tech (Led the GAC by scoring 23.5 points per game last week; made 14-of-21 field goals)
- De’Sean Dockery, Jr., G, Southern Arkansas (Shot 73.3 overall from the field and averaged 13.0 points)
- Blake McNair, Sr., G, Harding (Recorded his second double-double; has made multiple 3-pointers in 13 consecutive games)
- Adrian Motley, Jr., F, Northwestern Oklahoma State (Extended double-digit scoring streak to 10; added double-double vs HU)
