GAC BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (2/15/16)

 RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league’s women’s and men’s basketball players of the week for the 14th week of the 2015-16 season. Ouachita’s Breanna Harris and Southwestern Oklahoma State’s Janae Coffee shared the women’s award while Arkansas Tech’s Tyler Corley earned the men’s honor.
 
GAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Breanna Harris, Ouachita, G/F, Sr., Bryant, Arkansas
Harris averaged 28.5 points, went 16-for-26 from the floor and 8-of-10 from the 3-point arc against the GAC’s top two teams – No. 15 Arkansas Tech and Harding. After tallying 16 points against the Golden Suns, she exploded for 41 points against the Lady Bisons. He connected on all six of her 3-point tries and went 13-of-14 from the free-throw line in the 87-83 win.
 
GAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Janae Coffee, Southwestern Oklahoma State, C, Sr., Fresno, California
Coffee helped the Lady Bulldogs pick up a pair of wins and move into sole possession of third place in the GAC standings. She totaled 12 points and 10 rebounds against East Central and followed up with 19 points and 16 rebounds against Southern Nazarene. For the week, she averaged 15.5 points and 13.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in only 19.5 minutes of action per game.
 
MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Tyler Corley, Arkansas Tech, G, Jr., Indianapolis, Indiana
Corley led Arkansas Tech to a pair of victories as he averaged 25.0 points per game against first-place Ouachita and at Southern Arkansas. He scored a season-high 30 points on 11-of-17 shooting as the Wonder Boys handed the Tigers just their fourth GAC loss. He followed up with 20 points and six assists in a 78-73 win against Muleriders in Magnolia.

- Rachel Doerneman, Fr., F, Southern Nazarene (Recorded her first double-double with a career-high 10 rebounds vs SWOSU)
- Dulincia Keener, Sr., F, Henderson State (Set HSU’s career rebounding record, 742, by grabbing against Arkansas-Monticello)
- Rachel Wallace, Jr., G, Southeastern Oklahoma State (Averaged 18.5 PPG and 7.5 RPG as SE extended its win streak to eight)

- Jacob Gibson, Sr., G, Harding (Scored a season-high 34 against Ouachita; went 8-for-14 from the 3-point arc for the week)
- Denarious Lockhart, Jr., F, Southern Arkansas (Averaged a double-double and shot 75 percent from the floor, 12-of-16)
- Justin McCleary, Jr., G, Ouachita (Averaged 17.0 points per game; tallied 15 and added five assists in win against Harding)
