GAC BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (2/8/16)

 RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league’s men’s and women’s basketball players of the week for the 13th week of the 2015-16 season. Southern Nazarene's C.J. Rodriguez captured the men’s honor and Arkansas-Monticello’s Jordan Goforth earned the women’s accolade.
 
MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – C.J. Rodriguez, Southern Nazarene, G, Sr., Killeen, Texas
Rodriguez hit 14-of-18 shots, including 7-for-10 from the 3-point arc as the Crimson Storm scored home wins against Harding and Arkansas Tech. He tallied 31 points (on 10-of-11 shooting), eight assists, five rebounds, three steals and two blocks as SNU beat Harding at home for the third straight year. He hit 4-of-7 shots and grabbed six rebounds in a 67-63 win vs Arkansas Tech.
 
GAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jordan Goforth, Arkansas-Monticello, G, Jr., Plano, Texas 
Goforth reached the 20-point mark in both games this week, highlighted by a 32-point outburst on 13-of-26 shooting in an 87-85 win at Southwestern Oklahoma State. She followed up with 28 points the Blossoms’ 75-70 victory at Northwestern Oklahoma State. She averaged 30.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in the two road wins.

- Anton Cook, Jr., G, Southeastern Oklahoma State (Tallied 21 points and hit five 3-pointers in win against Henderson State)
- Tyler Corley, Jr., G, Arkansas Tech (Averaged 13.5 points per game against Oklahoma Baptist and Southern Nazarene)
- Will Francis, Jr., G, Harding (Scored 21 points vs Oklahoma Baptist, his third 20-point game of the season)
- Adrian Motley, Jr., F, Northwestern Oklahoma State (Averaged 20.5 points and 8.5 rebounds; went 19-for-37 from the floor)
- Vladimir Nemcok, So., G, Oklahoma Baptist (Averaged 23.0 points and 8.0 assists; led Bison to win against Harding)
- Stirling Thomas, Sr., G, East Central (Helped ECU move into second place as Tigers ended Ouachita’s 10-game win streak)
