GAC BASEBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (4/5/16)

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league’s Players of the Week for the 10th week of the 2016 baseball season. Southwestern Oklahoma State’s C.J. Faddis claimed the Player award while East Central’s Shae Edmonds and Henderson State’s Luke Tebbetts shared the Pitcher accolade, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
GAC BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – C.J. Faddis, Southwestern Oklahoma State, 2B, Sr., De Soto, Kansas
Faddis claimed his first GAC Player of the Week award after he hit .667 against Henderson State and Oklahoma Christian. The De Soto, Kansas native registered a .883 slugging percentage with seven runs and a pair of doubles. Faddis also recorded a .750 on-base percentage with three stolen-bases.
GAC BASEBALL CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Shae Edmonds, East Central, RHP, So., Burnet, Texas
Edmonds held Oklahoma Baptist to two hits on Saturday in a complete-game shutout. The Burnet, Texas native allowed a leadoff single, but then retired the next 14 Bison consecutively. Edmonds struck out three as he limited a prolific Oklahoma Baptist offense to just an .087 average for the game.
GAC BASEBALL CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Luke Tebbetts, Henderson State, RHP, Jr., Winnsboro, Texas
Tebbetts’ complete-game shutout victory against Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford helped him garner his first GAC Pitcher of the Week award. The Winnsboro, Texas allowed four hits to the Bulldogs. Tebbetts held SWOSU to a .133 batting average and also recorded three strikeouts.

- Harrison Hunter, Sr., CF, Harding (Batted .583 with three stolen bases scored two runs versus SAU)
- Xyruse Martinez, Jr., SS, Northwestern Oklahoma State (Hit .571 in four games; drove in five runs)
- Jake Tisevich, So., OF, Southern Arkansas (Drove in six runs; hit .412 and slugged .824)
- Corey Wood, Sr., RF, Arkansas-Monticello (Recorded seven RBIs and four runs; hit three homers)

- Gunnar Cook, Jr., RHP, Southwestern Oklahoma State (Struck out 10 in 7.0 IP vs Henderson State)
