GAC BASEBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (5/1/2017)

 RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league’s Players of the Week recipients for the final week of the baseball regular season. Arkansas Tech’s Zach Klockowski and Oklahoma Baptist’s Josh Timms shared the Player honor while Henderson State’s Bryant Haralson earned the Pitcher award.
 
GAC BASEBALL CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Zach Klockowski, Arkansas Tech, DH, Sr., Tinley Park, Illinois
Klockowski slugged multiple home runs both of Arkansas Tech’s wins against Harding. In the opener, he registered his second four-hit game of the season, hit a pair of home runs and drove in seven runs. In the finale, he recorded his third multi-homer game of the season, including a grand slam, and knocked home six runs. He went 6-for-13 in the series with four home runs.
 
GAC BASEBALL CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Josh Timms, Oklahoma Baptist, LF, Jr., Mansfield, Texas
Timms dominated at the plate against St. Gregory’s and Southern Nazarene as he went 7-for-9 with a home run, a triple and two doubles. He added four walks to finish the week with an .846 on-base percentage and a 1.556 slugging percentage. He scored five runs and totaled six RBI
 
GAC BASEBALL CPITCHER OF THE WEEK – Bryant Haralson, Henderson State, RHP, Jr., Atkins, Arkansas
Haralson finished off his first regular season with the Reddies in stellar fashion as he threw his seventh complete game of the year after holding rival Ouachita to one run and four hits in 7.0 innings of work. He struck out nine to increase his total to 94, seven shy of Reddie single-season record.

- Justin Weigle, Sr., SS, Ouachita (Totaled 10 hits in 17 at bats with triples and a home run; slugged 1.059)
 
NOTABLE PITCHER NOMINEES                                          
- Tyler Gibson, Sr., RHP, Oklahoma Baptist (Threw 3.1 innings of perfect relief against Southern Nazarene)
- Makenzy Larsen, Sr., RHP, Southern Arkansas (Struck out four in his two-inning relief stint; earned win as SAU won in the 10th)
- Jayme Lovelace, Sr., RHP, Ouachita (Tossed season-high 7.2 IP in picking up a win against Henderson State with five strikeouts)
- Jackson Ward, Jr., LHP, Harding (Earned win vs Arkansas Tech out of the bullpen; allowed one hit in 5.2 IP and struck out four)
- Kyle Wilson, Jr., RHP, Arkansas Tech (Improved to 8-0 with seven strikeouts vs Harding; has not allowed a run in 27.2 innings)
