RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the GAC/MIAA men’s soccer players of the week for the sixth week of the season. No. 7 Fort Hays State swept the honors as Juan Linares won the Offensive Player honor, Oliver Wright earned the Defensive Player accolade and Payton Roehrich claimed the Goalkeeper award.

Linares scored two goals for the week as the Tigers rolled in shutout wins against Harding and Ouachita Baptist. He had the fifth goal of a 5-0 win against the Bisons and the second goal in the 3-0 win against the Tigers. The Tigers improved to 9-0-2, 5-0 in GAC/MIAA play.
#theGAC/MIAA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Oliver Wright, D, Fort Hays State, So., Kings Hill, England
Wright played 162 minutes in the Tigers’ dominating victories against Harding and Ouachita Baptist. The Tiger defense allowed just a combined four shots and just one on goal in the two wins. He contributed to the offense by scoring twice against Harding and once against Ouachita Baptist, all on headers inside the box directly off throw-ins by Joseph Street.
#theGAC/MIAA GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK – Payton Roehrich, GK, Fort Hays State, Fr., Chandler, Arizona
Roehrich lowered his goals-against average to 0.31 after he played the opening 61:12 of a 5-0 win against Harding and he recorded a shutout of Ouachita Baptist, his sixth of the season. He made a save against the Tigers to improve his save percentage to .900. He ranks in the top five nationally in goals-against average, save percentage and shutouts
