RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the GAC women’s and men’s cross country runners of the week for the final weekend of the regular season. Ouachita Baptist’s Allison Hylkema and Caleb Greenwich captured the awards following their performances at the Tiger Invitational.
#theGAC WOMEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK – Allison Hylkema, Sr., Ouachita Baptist, Jackson, Tennessee
Hylkema finished first out of 54 runners at the Tiger Invitational on Friday in Arkadelphia, Ark. Hylkema set a program record with a personal-best 5K time of 17:43.60. She broke the 18-minute mark for the first time in her career. She led the Tigers to a team victory with a perfect score of 15 points.
#theGAC MEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK – Caleb Greenwich, Fr., Ouachita Baptist, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Greenwich collected the first individual victory of his career after he crossed the line first on the 8K course with a time of 24:45.75. The Tigers won the team event by 31 points with a team score of 16. He has finished as the Tigers’ top runner at all four of their events this fall at which he has raced.
