RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the football players of the week for the seventh week of the season. Harding’s Andrew Miller and Clark Griffin collected the Offensive and Defensive Player awards. Oklahoma Baptist’s Carter Lowry earned the Special Teams honor.

Miller set conference and school records for rushing yards in a game after he gained 298 yards on just 21 carries in the Bisons’ 35-10 win against Henderson State. In the third quarter, he produced touchdown runs of 75 and 90 yards. He added a three-yard touchdown in the second quarter and a seven-yard score in the fourth quarter.
#theGAC FOOTBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Clark Griffin, LB, Harding, Sr., Mountain Brook, Alabama
Griffin amassed a career-high 18 tackles in Harding’s victory against Henderson State. The 18 tackles represented the most by a GAC player since Oklahoma Baptist’s Scooter Baker tallied 19 against Ouachita Baptist on November 4, 2023. He forced two fumbles, recovered one in the first quarter and broke up two passes.
#theGAC FOOTBALL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Carter Lowry, K, Oklahoma Baptist, So., Norman, Oklahoma
Lowry went 3-for-4 on his field-goal tries against East Central. He set a program record with a successful 53-yard make in the first quarter. He added a 21-yard field goal in the second quarter and a 44-yard try as the first half ended. The 53-yard field goal matched the longest in the GAC this season. He has made 8-of-11 field-goal tries this season.
