#theGAC WOMEN’S SOCCER PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (WEEK EIGHT)

 RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the GAC women’s soccer players of the week for the eighth week of the season. Ouachita Baptist’s McKenna Wright won the Offensive Player honor. East Central’s Ximena Resendiz, Northwestern Oklahoma State’s Ellie Dang and Southern Nazarene’s JQ Molgaard shared the Defensive Player accolade. ECU’s Madison Mayhall claimed the Goalkeeper award.

#theGAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – McKenna Wright, MF, Ouachita Baptist, So.,Hot Springs, Arkansas
Wright registered five points across the Tigers’ two matches last week. She recorded an assist on Olivia Erskine’s goal against Southern Nazarene. She scored the Tigers’ opening and final goal in their 4-1 victory against Oklahoma Baptist for her first-career brace. The first goal came in the fifth minute and the finale came in the 79th minute.

#theGAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Ximena Resendiz, D, East Central, Sr., Mesquite, Texas
Resendiz played the full 90 minutes in both of ECU's contests. In the Tigers’ 1-0 shutout win against Southwestern Oklahoma State, she converted the game-winning free kick for her first goal of the season. The win gave the Bulldogs their first GAC loss. Against Northwestern Oklahoma State, she anchored a defense that allowed just one goal on seven shots.

#theGAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Ellie Dang, D, Northwestern Oklahoma State, Jr., College Station, Texas
In the Rangers lone game of the week, a 1-0 home win against East Central, she played the full 90 minutes for the ninth time in 14 games this season. The Rangers registered their GAC-leading eighth shutout as they allowed just seven shots, five on goal. The Rangers have not allowed a goal in more than 278 minutes.

#theGAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – JQ Molgaard, D, Southern Nazarene, Jr., Plano, Texas
Molgaard led a Crimson Storm defense that allowed one goal to both Ouachita Baptist and Harding as they went 1-0-1. In a 2-1 win against the Tigers, the defense gave up just five shots on goal. She contributed to the offense after she scored the tying goal in the 63rd minute. She played the full 90 minutes in both games.

#theGAC GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK – Madison Mayhall, GK, East Central, So., Forney, Texas
Mayhall recorded a combined 13 saves in the Tigers’ matches against Southwestern Oklahoma State and Northwestern Oklahoma State. Against the previously undefeated Bulldogs, she came up with seven saves as part of her first shutout of the season. She followed up with six saves against the Rangers.
