BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — The Harding University men's golf team earned its best finish of the fall season, placing second in a tight contest at The Tulsa Cup, with junior Jose Arzu taking the individual championship in a dramatic playoff on Tuesday.

The Bisons fired a 6-over 294 in the final round at Indian Springs Country Club, concluding the tournament at 10-under 854, just two strokes behind No. 14 Central Missouri, which finished at 852.

This runner-up showing marks Harding's fourth consecutive top-four finish and its best result across five fall tournaments.

Arzu was the star of the day, shooting a 1-under 71 in the final round to tie with Central Missouri's CJ Phillips, the No. 15-ranked player in Division II, at 8-under 208. Arzu then bested Phillips in a playoff to secure the first individual medalist honor of his Harding career. Arzu also dominated the par-4s throughout the event, playing them at an impressive 5-under.

No. 40 Dennis Staykov also had a strong showing, finishing third at 7-under 209 after firing a 2-over 74 in the final round. Arzu and Staykov both led the team and tied for the tournament lead with 13 birdies each.

The rest of the Bison lineup included Jose Manuel Peralta, who tied for 22nd at 2-over 218; Austin Bibb, tied for 31st at 4-over 220 and Conner Geist, tied for 38th at 5-over 221.
