#theGAC MEN’S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK (WEEK ONE)

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the GAC men’s track & field athletes of the week for the opening week of the indoor season. Southern Nazarene’s Michael Styles won the track athlete honor and Northwestern Oklahoma State’s Jeremiah Anderson earned the field athlete accolade.

#theGAC TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Michael Styles, Jr., Southern Nazarene, Freeport, The Bahamas
Styles broke two school records at the Crimson and Gold Invitational. In the 200-meter dash, he finished in 21.75 seconds and took second in the event. He became the first in school history to break 22 seconds in the event. In the 400-meter run, he clocked a time of 48.94 seconds to break the record by more than three-tenths of a second. He placed eighth in the event.

#theGAC FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Jeremiah Anderson, Fr., Northwestern Oklahoma State, Columbia, Missouri
Anderson set two school records at the Washburn Alumni Invitational as he won the high jump and finished 13th in the long jump. In the high jump, he cleared 1.99 meters. In the long jump, he produced a mark of 6.79 meters. His efforts rank first and second in the GAC, respectively.
