#theGAC MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (WEEK SIX)

 RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the GAC men’s basketball players of the week for the sixth week of the season. East Central’s Rustin Coffey claimed the Offensive Player of the Week honor while Ouachita Baptist’s Christian Parks and Southern Arkansas’ Jair Horton shared the Defensive Player of the Week award.

#theGAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Rustin Coffey, F, East Central, Jr., Valliant, Oklahoma
Coffey averaged 25.5 points per game on 61.3 percent shooting as the Tigers knocked off No. 23 Oklahoma Baptist and Newman. He scored a season-high 26 points against the Bison. He went 9-for-15 and hit a season-high five 3-pointers. Against the Jets, he went 10-for-16 en route to 25 points. He added four rebounds and four assists.

#theGAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Christian Parks, F, Ouachita Baptist, Jr., Meridian, Mississippi
Parks, the GAC’s top shot blocker, registered a total of 10 blocks across two games last week. He came up with four in an 11-point win against Harding. He followed up with a season-high six blocks as the Tigers defeated Southern Arkansas. He added nine rebounds against the Muleriders.

#theGAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jair Horton, F, Southern Arkansas, Sr., Nashville, Tennessee
Horton averaged 8.0 rebounds and 2.3 steals across three games. In an overtime win against Arkansas Tech, he grabbed eight rebounds and came up with two steals. Against Henderson State, he registered his first double-double of the season - 21 points and 11 rebounds. Against Ouachita Baptist, he recorded a season-high three steals.
