RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the second women’s and men’s golfers of the week awards for the spring portion of the 2025-26 season. Southwestern Oklahoma State’s Maria Velilla won the women’s honor and Northwestern Oklahoma State claimed the men’s accolade.
#theGAC WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Maria Velilla, Fr., Southwestern Oklahoma State, Calatayud, Spain
Velilla tied for third at the Southern Invitational for her third top-three finish of the season. After a 4-over par 76 in round two, she turned in rounds of 2-over and 1-under to move up from a tie for 22nd. She made two birdies against just one bogey in the final round. She played the par 3s and par 5s in even par. The Bulldogs tied for 10th.
#theGAC MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – An-chieh Tsai, So., Northwestern Oklahoma State, New Taipei City, Taiwan
In his first tournament start this season, Tsai finished 22nd out of 87 golfers at the Rattler Invitational as the Rangers finished ninth. He opened with a 2-over 74. His low round, an even par 72 in round two, featured four birdies. He made four additional birdies in round three.
