RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the GAC men’s basketball players of the week for the penultimate week of the regular season. Northwestern Oklahoma State’s Max Alexander earned Player of the Week and Oklahoma Baptist’s Christian Hodge garnered the Defensive Player of the Week.

Alexander averaged a league-high 24.0 points per game on 55.4 percent shooting as the Rangers picked up two wins. On Monday, scored a game-high 26 points against Southeastern Oklahoma State. Against Southern Arkansas, he went 11-for-18 and made the game-winning jumper with 5.2 seconds left. He wrapped up with 18 points in a win against Arkansas-Monticello.
#theGAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Christian Hodge, F, Oklahoma Baptist, Fr., Houston, Texas
Hodge helped the Bison clinch the No. 1 seed for the GAC Championships after he averaged 7.0 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 1.7 blocks in victories against Southwestern Oklahoma State, Henderson State and No. 20 Ouachita Baptist. He collected 14 defensive rebounds.
