#theGAC MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (WEEK 12)

 RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the GAC men’s basketball players of the week for the 12th week of the season. Oklahoma Baptist’s Terry Coner, Jr. captured the Player of the Week honor and Ouachita Baptist’s Christian Parks earned the Defensive Player of the Week accolade.

#theGAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Terry Coner, Jr., G, Oklahoma Baptist, Jr., Birmingham, Alabama
Coner, Jr. produced back-to-back 20-point games to lead the Bison to road wins against Harding and Arkansas Tech. He scored 20 points on 5-of-10 shooting as Oklahoma Baptist ended the Bisons’ 13-game home win streak. He followed up with 23 points, six assists and three steals in an overtime win against the Wonder Boys.

#theGAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Christian Parks, F, Ouachita Baptist, Jr., Meridian, Mississippi
Parks blocked a total of seven shots as the Tigers defeated Southwestern and Northwestern Oklahoma State to clinch a berth to next month’s GAC Championships. He blocked four shots and grabbed nine rebounds against the Bulldogs. He followed up with eight rebounds and three blocks against the Rangers. He ranks seventh in Division II in blocks per game, 2.67.
