 RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the women’s tennis player of the week for the fifth week of the 2026 season. Arkansas Tech’s Elis Gergel won the award for the second-straight week as the Golden Suns won three matches.

Gergel picked up three No. 2 singles wins and a double victory in helping Tech improve to 6-1. Against Collin College, she beat Marie-Alix Urcun. She collected a three-set win against Southwest Baptist’s Maria Clara Zotti. Against UT Dallas, she handled Presley Churchman by dropping just one game. She paired with Monica Balau for a 6-1 No. 1 doubles win.
