 RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the GAC baseball weekly awards for the eighth week of the season. Henderson State’s Tanner Ross won Player of the Week while his teammate, Rhett Richardson, claimed Pitcher of the Week.

#theGAC BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Tanner Ross, INF, Henderson State, Fr., Texarkana, Arkansas
Ross hit .500 in the Reddies’ sweep of Southern Nazarene. He became the second GAC player this season to record a three-home-run game when he tallied three in game one of the season. He drove in six in the 15-11 win. He hit his fourth home run of the series, and drove in two, in game two. He scored two runs in the finale, a 22-5 triumph.

#theGAC BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Rhett Richardson, SP, Henderson State, So., Smackover, Arkansas
Richardson logged his longest start of the season after he tossed 6.0 scoreless frames against Southern Nazarene on Friday. He held the Crimson Storm to just two hits and a walk. None of the three base runners reached second base. He struck out a season-high seven batters as he won his second game of the season and lowered his ERA to 3.38.
