 RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the 11th GAC women’s track & field athletes of the week recipients. Harding’s Josie Parks garnered the track athlete accolade and the Lady Bisons’ Carly Tucker captured the field athlete award.

#theGAC TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Josie Parks, Sr., Harding, Columbia, Tennessee
Parks dominated the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Ole Miss Classic. She won with a time of 10:37.59. She finished more than 17 seconds clear of second place. She owns the fastest time in Division II. She missed out on breaking the school record by less than one second.

#theGAC FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Carly Tucker, So., Harding, Bullard, Texas
Tucker shattered a four-year-old school record in the long jump. She took fourth in the event at the Ole Miss Classic with a personal-best leap of 5.97m. She achieved an NCAA Provisional mark. She competed in four events at the meet. She placed fourth in the long jump, won the 400-meter hurdles and placed seventh in the 100-meter hurdles.
