RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced its 12th GAC men’s track & field athletes of the week winners. Oklahoma Baptist’s Dwayne Fleming won the track athlete honor and Southern Nazarene’s Colter Bufford, earned the field athlete honor.

Fleming claimed victories in both sprint events at the OBU Invitational. He took first in the 100-meter dash with an NCAA Provisional time of 10.35 seconds. In the 200, he won with an additional NCAA Provisional time, 20.89 seconds. He ranks sixth nationally in the event. He ran the opening leg of the victorious 4x100 team. The time, 40.62 seconds, ranks 15th in Division II.
#theGAC FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Colter Bufford, Jr., Southern Nazarene, Edmond, Oklahoma
Bufford took second, first amongst collegiate competitors in the javelin at the OBU Invitational. After a foul on his first attempt, he produced an effort of 56.62 meters to move into first place. His top distance, 61.30 meters, came on his final throw. He reached the NCAA Provisional standard for the second-straight meet.
