RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the 122th GAC women’s track & field athletes of the week recipients. Oklahoma Baptist’s Favour Okoye claimed the track athlete honor while her teammate, Altyn Bartley, earned the field athlete accolade.

Okoye won the 400-meter hurdles at the OBU Invitational by more than two seconds with a time of 1:00.85. Her time ranks as the fastest in the GAC and as the 13th-best in Division II. She ran the opening leg of the Bison’s victorious 4x400 relay team. The team crossed in 3:55.29, the fourth-best time this season in the GAC.

Bartley broke a pair of school records at the OBU Invitational with two NCAA Provisional marks. In winning the hammer throw, she finished as the lone competitor to clear 50 meters. She posted 54.79 meters, the ninth-best attempt in Division II. In the shot put, her victorious effort of 14.84 meters ranks sixth in the country.
