 RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the GAC baseball weekly awards for the 11th week of the season. East Central’s Tyler Akers claimed Player of the Week and Northwestern Oklahoma State’s Logan Sandoval won Pitcher of the Week.

#theGAC BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Tyler Akers, CF, East Central, Jr., Springtown, Texas
Akers helped the Tigers push their win streak to 10 as he hit .647. He went 2-for-5 with three runs scored and a stolen base against Newman. In a sweep of Southern Arkansas, he opened with a 5-for-5 performance. In game two, he added three hits, three runs and a triple. In game three, he drove in the game's first run and he scored the winning run in the last of the seventh.

#theGAC BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Logan Sandoval, SP, Northwestern Oklahoma State, So., Ruidoso, New Mexico
Sandoval improved to 7-4 as he won his third-straight start. He collected his fifth complete game of the season as he defeated Henderson State, 7-2 on Saturday. He struck a season-high eight batters in the 122-pitch outing. He surrendered just four hits and two walks.
