#theGAC WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK (WEEK 14)

 RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the 14th GAC women’s track & field athletes of the week recipients. Harding’s Leila Ngapout won the track award and the Lady Bisons’ Roselyn Spencer earned the field accolade.

#theGAC TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Leila Ngapout, Jr., Harding, Fairview, Texas
At the Bryan Phillips Open, she won the 100-meter dash in a personal-best time of 11.67 seconds. She finished almost a half second ahead of the field with the second-fastest time in the GAC this season. She added a win in the 200. She ran a PR time of 24.20 seconds, the fourth-best time in the league. She ran on both relay teams, each finished second.

#theGAC FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Roselyn Spencer, Fr., Harding, Paris, Texas
Spencer won the Heptathlon at the Bryan Phillips Open. She finished with 5,240 points - a personal record, a Harding record and the seventh-best total in Division II this season. She took first in the 100-meter hurdles and the high jump. She claimed second in the 200. She placed third in the shot put and the 800. She added fourth-place finishes in the long jump and javelin.
