 RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the 15th GAC women’s track & field athletes of the week recipients. Harding’s Josie Parks claimed the track award and Oklahoma Baptist’s Jamora Horace won the field honor.

#theGAC TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Josie Parks, Sr., Harding, Columbia, Tennessee
Parks broke a 17-year-old school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Bryan Clay Invitational. She finished 21st, third amongst Division II runners with a time of 10:26.96. Her performance eclipsed the previous Harding record by nearly 10 seconds. It ranks as the top time in the GAC and the sixth-fastest in Division II,

#theGAC FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Jamora Horace, Sr., Oklahoma Baptist, Fort Worth, Texas
For the third time in the outdoor season, Horace won the high jump event as she claimed the title at the Emporia Relays. She reached the provisional mark of 1.77 meters by clearing the height on her second attempt. She bested her teammate, Jacey Hammon, as part of a 1-2 finish for the Bison in the event.
