 RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the GAC softball weekly awards for the 12th week of the season. Ouachita Baptist’s Emily Reed claimed Player of the Week while her teammate, Catie Amador, earned Pitcher of the Week.

#theGAC SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Emily Reed, LF, Ouachita Baptist, Jr., Benton, Arkansas
Reed hit .444 in helping the Tigers claim a series victory against Northwestern Oklahoma State. All four of her hits resulted in home runs. After hitting a solo home run in game one, she homered and scored twice in game two. In the finale, she hit two two-run home runs. She broke the school’s single-season record for home runs with 16. Her 16 home runs rank fifth nationally.

#theGAC SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Catie Amador, RHP, Ouachita Baptist, So., Burleson, Texas
Amador threw the sixth no-hitter in program history and the first in seven years after she defeated Northwestern Oklahoma State, 7-0, in the series finale. She struck out eight and walked only one. She has won four of her last five starts and has posted a 1.11 ERA across her last 69.1 innings.
