SEARCY, Arkansas – Harding built a 50-point following the second day of the 2026 Great American Conference Men’s Track & Field Championships after four Bisons claimed individual titles.
On Wednesday, Harding’s Benson Lingokal established a championship record in the 10,000-meter run as he crossed the line in 29:44.17. He won by more than 74 seconds. Casen Hammitt led four Bisons to finish in the top five of javelin with a winning throw of 63.99 meters. On Thursday, Hayes Cox repeated as decathlon champion. He scored 6,715 points, just 12 ahead of teammate Henry Heilmann. Anton Kopytko won the long jump for the fourth-straight year. He jumped 7.40 meters.
Oklahoma Baptist sits in second. Matthew Werschem claimed the title in the hammer throw with a top effort of 55.45 meters. Emory Crayton and Cameron Langdon closed out Thursday with a 1-2 finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. He finished in 9:07.66.
Ouachita Baptist ended in third and Northwestern Oklahoma State placed fourth. Brock Bourgeois claimed the title in the shot put. He climbed from third place to the top of the podium with a mark of 16.35 meters on his final attempt.
Southern Arkansas, Southern Nazarene and East Central rounded out the team standings.
Friday features the field events of the triple jump, pole vault, high jump and discus. On the track, finals include the 4x100-meter relay, the 1,500, the 110-meter hurdles, the 400, the 100, the 800, the 400-meter hurdles, the 200, the 5,000 and the 4x400 meter relay.
