SEARCY, Arkansas – Harding finished the second day of the 2026 Great American Conference Women’s Track & Field Championships atop the team standings as four Lady Bisons claimed individual titles.
Erika Konovalenko set a meet record in the javelin throw with a winning effort of 50.36 meters on her final attempt. Josie Parks smashed the meet record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase by more than 20 seconds. Yedidya Bangue collected the title in the shot put with a throw of 15.16 meters. Cadence Sansom cleared 3.95 meters in the pole vault to win the event for the second time in her career.
Oklahoma Baptist, the four-time GAC champions, resides in second. The Bison’s Adelaide Murphy continued the program’s dominance in the 10,000 as she edged out Ouachita Baptist’s Allison Hylkema by just 1.26 seconds. Altyn Bartley defended her title in the hammer throw. She broke her own meet record with a mark of 54.06 meters.
Southern Nazarene’s Abriel Thrash captured the heptathlon for the fourth-straight year. She took first in the high jump and the 200. The Crimson Storm finished the day in third place.
Ouachita Baptist placed fourth, followed by Southern Arkansas. The Muleriders’ Diamond Brunn won the long jump with a winning attempt of 5.87 meters.
Northwestern Oklahoma State, Arkansas Tech, Southeastern Oklahoma State, East Central and Southwestern Oklahoma State rounded out the team standings.
Friday features the field events of the high jump, discus and triple jump. On the track, finals include the 4x100-meter relay, the 1,500, the 100-meter hurdles, the 400, the 100, the 800, the 400-meter hurdles, the 200, the 5,000 and the 4x400 meter relay.
