RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – With the program's first-ever Great American Conference Tournament Championship secured on Friday night, the Arkansas Tech baseball team knew they were assured to be in the NCAA Central Region Tournament via the league's automatic bid, but were awaiting their seed, opponent and location.

On Sunday night during the NCAA Division II Baseball Selection Show, the Wonder Boys learned they will be the No. 8-seed and play No. 1-seed and host, Pittsburg State.

That game is scheduled to take place at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 14 from Al Ortolani Field in Pittsburg, Kan.

The Wonder Boys, who are making their fourth-straight appearance at the Central Region Tournament, will be the lone team from the GAC in the eight-team regional as the MIAA got five teams while the NSIC secured the remaining two bids. As a whole, the Central Region Tournament will be held at two sites, with four teams competing at each site in a double-elimination format.

The two winners of the respective brackets will come together for a best-of-three Super Region Tournament the following weekend at the highest remaining seed.

Joining the Wonder Boys in Pittsburg, Kan. for Central Region 1 are No. 4-seed Northwest Missouri and No. 5-seed Augustana. Those two will play one another after the Tech-Pitt State game on Thursday.

The remaining four teams – No. 2-seed Rogers State, No. 3-seed Central Missouri, No. 6-seed Minnesota State and No. 7-seed Missouri Southern will play their tournament at Rogers State in Claremore, Okla.
