LADY BISONS UPSET DIVISION I ORAL ROBERTS 68-54

TULSA, Okla. – Sophomore guard Shana Holmes scored 17 points to lead the Harding women's basketball team to a 68-54 victory over NCAA Division I Oral Roberts on Monday. It was the Lady Bisons second of three exhibition games before the start of the regular season.
It was the third time in the last five years Harding has defeated a NCAA Division I opponent. The Lady Bisons previous wins came against Lipscomb in 2011 and in 2006.
It was the first time since the 1993-94 season Oral Roberts has fallen to a non-Division I opponent. The Golden Eagles fell to East Texas Baptist 66-63.
Sophomore's Montana Lewis and Arielle Saunders each captured a double-double. Both players had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Junior forward Kristen Celsor had a game-high 12 rebounds.
For the second straight game Harding outrebounded their opponent. HU grabbed 46 to Oral Roberts 34. The Lady Bisons outrebounded Wichita State 32-27 on Sunday in their first exhibition game.
Harding scored eight 3-pointers in the contest. Lewis and Holmes each had two for the Lady Bisons.
Harding hit 18-of-23 free throws (78.3 percent).
Oral Roberts was led by Kevi Luper who had 21 points, hitting 8-of-19 from the field. She also had three 3-pointers.
