GAC BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (11/13/2012)

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Southeastern Oklahoma State’s Travis Timmons and East Central’s Ashley Robison received the Great American Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball Players of the Week for their performances in the first week of the 2012-13 regular season.
GAC MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Travis Timmons, Southeastern Oklahoma State, G, Jr., Tucson, Ariz.
Timmons set a school and GAC single-game record with 16 assists in the Savage Storm’s 124-55 victory against Dallas Christian College. The 124 points also set a GAC single-game record. Timmons added 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting as well as three steals.
GAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Ashley Robison, East Central, F, Jr., Tulsa, Okla.
Robison recorded the first double-double of her career in the Lady Tigers’ season-opening 69-51 victory against St. Gregory’s. She scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. She added three assists and a pair of steals. Six of her 11 rebounds came on the offensive glass.
NOTABLE MEN’S NOMINEES
- Gregory Ardister, F, Jr., East Central (In only 20 minutes of action, notched a double-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds)
- Michael Maya, G, Jr., Arkansas-Monticello (Totaled 21 points, six rebs and five assists vs Champion Baptist; made 6 3-pt FG)
- Michael Morris, F, Sr., Ouachita Baptist (Scored 23 points - 19 in the first half - with five steals, four rebounds and two blocks)
NOTABLE WOMEN’S NOMINEES
- Breana Small-Peppers, F, Fr., Southeastern Oklahoma (Scored 22 points on 8-of-10 shooting with five rebounds)
