ENID, Okla. – No. 5 seed Ouachita Baptist recorded its second loser’s bracket victory with a 13-7 (
BOX SCORE) win over No.4 seed Arkansas Tech on Sunday on the third day of the inaugural Great American Conference Baseball Championship Tournament.

The OBU victory pits the Tigers (28-25) against No. 2 seed Southeastern Oklahoma State in the finals of the loser’s bracket in a game that was scheduled to begin at 8:35 p.m. on Sunday.

In the win over Arkansas Tech (26-27), OBU outhit the Wonder Boys by a final margin of 18-14. The Tigers used a seven-run second inning to grab a sizeable advantage early. OBU strung together eight hits in the frame, including a solo homerun and an RBI single from catcher Tom Ward.

ATU responded in the bottom of the second with four runs, including a two-run double by Cesar Abreu.

TheTigers took an 8-4 lead in the third on an RBI single by Clayton Brandt, and grew their lead to 10-4 in the fifth with a pair of runs in the frame.

The Wonder Boys cut that lead to 10-6 with a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on a two-run triple by Abreu. ATU took advantage of a fieldingerror by the OBU second baseman in the eighth to add its final run.

Ouachita scored three insurance runs in the top of the ninth to finalize the scoring, highlighted by three consecutive extra base hits in the frame. Tom Ward started the rally with a double to left center, McCrae Jones followed with an RBI triple to right center and Parker Norris drove in Jones on a double to left center. Duncan Collins was responsible for OBU’s final run with an RBI single to left field to score Norris.

OBU’s Beau Martin (2-0) was credited with the win after allowing two runs off seven hits with one strikeout and one walk in 4.1 innings of relief. Zac Anstine (6-2) took the loss for ATU after allowing six runs off six hits in the first 1.1 innings of the contest.
