SAN ANGELO, Texas – Southeastern racked up 23 hits over two games and salvaged a double-header split on Wednesday against No. 14 Angelo State, dropping game one 5-3 before winning the finale 15-14 in 10 innings in San Angelo, Texas.

In the finale against ASU, the Storm jumped out to a big lead in the first inning, starting with a solo home run by Evan Ramsey in the game's second at-bat.

Tucker Alexander, Travis Caraway and Aaron Chalk each drew walks and the Storm had the bases loaded with two outs when Chevis Springer struck out, but reached first on a wild pitch which also allowed Alexander to score and take a 2-0 lead.

Trevor Bowen followed with a bases loaded walk and was followed up by a three-run double by Mark Frank to push the advantage out to 6-0 midway through the first inning.

The Rams mounted a rally, picking up three runs in the second and two more in the third to cut the gap to 6-5.

SE got back into a rhythm in the fourth as Troy McCartney and Chalk walked to open the inning, with McCartney scoring on a Springer single to the pitcher, thanks to an error by the Ram hurler.

Bowen followed with an RBI single to left that plated Chalk and pushed the lead to 8-5.

Frank would then follow with a bunt single to load the bases and Salter would drive in Springer and Bowen with a double to center field.

Ramsey would then push the lead to 11-5 with a sac fly that scored Frank.

The lead moved to 12-6 when Springer singled home Caraway in the fifth inning.

SE added another run in the sixth inning when Caraway singled to the pitcher, allowing Ramsey to score and push the lead to 13-6.

The Rams rallied with two runs in the bottom of the seventh and three more in the eighth to trim the Storm lead to 13-11 heading into the final frame.

Southeastern added another run in the top of the ninth to take a 14-11 lead when Springer singled home Caraway who had singled to open the inning and moved to second on a McCartney sac bunt.

ASU continued its rally and tied the game at 14-14 with three runs in the bottom of the ninth to force extra innings.

Caraway would put the Storm back in front again with an RBI single to center that scored a pinch-running Robby Nunez to go up 15-14.

The Rams would put runners on the corners with two outs in the bottom of the 10th, but Mann would coax Ryan Greer to groundout for the final out to preserve the win.
