GAC VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (11/17/15)

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league’s Players of the Week for the final week of the 2015 volleyball season. Arkansas Tech’s Katie Huff repeated as the Offensive recipient, Arkansas-Monticello’s Kya Standford earned the Defensive award and Southern Arkansas’ Taylor Reaume garnered the Setter honor.
GAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Katie Huff, Arkansas Tech, MB, Sr., Springdale, Arkansas
Huff finished the regular season by averaging 3.28 kills per set against Harding and Ouachita and posting a .391 attack percentage. In Tuesday’s contest against the Lady Bisons, she totaled 13 kills and hit .357. Two days later, in a sweep against the Tigers, she registered 10 kills and hit .444 to help the Golden Suns secure the outright regular-season title.
GAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kya Standford, Arkansas-Monticello, MH, Jr., Grand Prairie, Texas
Standford provided strong blocking efforts in the Blossoms’ two GAC wins - at Henderson State and the program’s first-ever triumph against Harding. She totaled nine blocks and averaged 1.29 blocks per set. She opened her week by totaling seven blocks against the Reddies and added added nine kills with a.400 attack percentage against Harding.
GAC SETTER OF THE WEEK – Taylor Reaume, Southern Arkansas, Sr., El Cajon, Calif.
Reaume averaged 12.85 assist per set in wins against Ouachita and Henderson State. She totaled 53 in a four-set victory at Ouachita, her sixth match this season with 50 or more assists. She added 16 digs against the Tigers for her 12th double-double. She followed up with 37 assists and six digs in a sweep against the Reddies.

- Kaitlyn Reiner, Jr., MH, Southern Arkansas (Averaged 2.57 kills and 1.14 blocks in two wins; hit .406 with 18 kills)
- Carolina Gasparini, Jr., OH, Arkansas-Monticello (Notched a double-double vs HSU; collected 10 kills against Harding)
- McKayla Benner, So., MH, Southern Nazarene (Registered five blocks vs SWOSU and seven against Oklahoma Baptist)
- Madison Nagel, So., DS/L, Arkansas Tech (Averaged 4.86 digs per set against Harding and Ouachita)
- Elyse Berlin, So., S, Southern Nazarene (Collected a double-double against SWOSU; averaged 11.5 assists per set)
- Sarita Stegall, Fr., S, Arkansas Tech (Averaged 11.43 assists and 3.0 digs per set)
- Alissya Theis, Jr., S, Arkansas-Monticello (Ended the season with four straight 30+ assist games; averaged 10.0 assists per set)
