GAC FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (11/9/2015)

 RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league’s Players of the Week for the 10th week of the 2015 football season. Southern Arkansas’ Barrett Renner garnered the Offensive award; Harding’s Trevon Biglow and Southwestern Oklahoma State’s Trevon Hartfield shared the Defensive accolade and Ouachita’s Cole Antley earned the Special Teams honor.
 
GAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Barrett Renner, Southern Arkansas, QB, Fr., Rowlett, Texas
Renner threw three touchdowns and went for over 300 yards passing for the sixth time this season in Southern Arkansas’ 35-26 win against East Central. He became the first freshman in Division II to reach the 3,000-yard milestone since 2012. He joined Tyler Sykora as the only quarterbacks in Mulerider history to throw for 3,000 yards in a season.
 
GAC CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Trevon Biglow, Harding, DE, Jr., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Biglow registered a career-high 3.5 sacks, second most by a Harding player since 2000. He forced a turnover with Harding trailing 30-28 at the Northwestern Oklahoma State 5-yard line to set up a Bison score on the next play that gave them the lead for good. He leads the team with 8.5 sacks and he shares the team lead with three forced fumbles.
 
GAC CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Trevon Hartfield, Southwestern Oklahoma State, CB, Sr., Watonga, Okla.
Hartfield totaled a career-high 10 tackles and two interceptions in a 28-14 win at Arkansas Tech. His first INT ended a Wonder Boy drive in SWOSU territory and set up a Bulldog touchdown. His second pick came in the fourth quarter with the Bulldogs clinging to a 21-14 lead. He added three pass breakups to give him 17 for the season. His four interceptions lead the team.
 
GAC SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Cole Antley, Ouachita, K, Fr., Atlanta, Georgia
Antley booted home a 40-yard field goal and made seven extra points in the Tigers’ 58-7 win against Southern Nazarene. The field goal represented his third 40-yard field goal of the season. He has converted 11-of-13 field goal attempts this season to lead the GAC with an 84.6 percent success rate.

- Michael Latu, Jr., RB, Harding (Scored three TDs in final 6:20 in comeback win vs NWOSU; tied GAC record with 92-yard run)
- David Moore, Jr., WR, East Central (Caught 11 passes for 201 yards – the first 200-yard game in the GAC this season)
- Kris Oliver, Fr., RB, Ouachita (Ran for 122 yards and four touchdowns; set GAC freshman record with 18 touchdowns)
- Dez Stegall, So., QB, Oklahoma Baptist (Threw for 178 yards and ran for 145 yards against Henderson State)
 
- A.J. Burton, So., DB, Ouachita (Recorded seven tackles and an interception against Southern Nazarene)
- Kent London, Sr., S, Southeastern Oklahoma State (Picked off two passes in Southeastern’s shutout of Arkansas-Monticello)
- Elgin Moore, So., DB, Southern Arkansas (Intercepted two passes; ran one back 50 yards for a touchdown)
- Sheldon Watson, Fr., DB, Henderson State (Returned an interception 100 yards as Reddies clinched their third GAC title)
