WACO, Texas - Following a year without any Great American Conference football players on the AFCA Division II Coaches' All-America Team, the league placed three on the two All-American teams, led by Ouachita's Cole Antley, a First-Team selection.
In addtion to Antley, Harding's Trevon Biglow and Southeastern Oklahoma State's Raheem Wilson earned spots on the AFCA Second-Team All-American squad.
2016 AFCA Division II All-America Teams
Antley became the first Tiger to receive this First-Team All-America honors from the AFCA. The sophomore from Atlanta, Ga. and a finalist for the Fred Mitchell Award, set a single-season Great American Conference record with 19 made field goals and finished the season ranked third in Division II with a 1.73 field goals per game average. Anltey previously earned All-GAC and All-Super Region 3 Second Team honors for his performance this year.
Biglow, a native of Oklahoma City, led the GAC in sacks (7.5), tackles for loss (18.5) and forced fumbles (four). In his 45-game Harding career, Biglow had 117 tackles, 43.5 tackles for loss and 24.5 sacks. He ranks second all-time at Harding in sacks and third in tackles for loss. Biglow joins defensive back Robert Towns (2006), defensive back Josh Jones (2009) and running back Romo Westbrook (2014) as Harding's AFCA All-Americans.
Wilson, the first All-American selection for the Savage Storm since Baylen Laury in 2010, finished the season with 47 tackles and leads the country in passes defended with 24 which included a GAC-best five interceptions and 19 pass breakups. He enters SE's record book for career interceptions and passes defended while matching that mark at the conference level with a total of 18 interceptions..
