 RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league’s Players of the Week for the 11th week of the 2016 baseball season. Harding’s Chris Taylor and Reed Roberts claimed the Player and Pitcher awards, respectively, the conference office announced on Monday.
 
GAC BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Chris Taylor, Harding, OF, So., Nesbit, Mississippi
Taylor led the Harding offense in its three-game sweep of first-place Arkansas-Monticello. He went 6-for-9 with five runs scored and a .750 on-base percentage. In the opener, he collected three hits including a two-run single. In game two, he reached base four times and he followed by scoring twice in game three.
 
GAC BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Reed Roberts, Harding, RHP, So., Guthrie, Oklahoma
Roberts factored in all four of Harding’s victories. He picked up a win and three saves. He opened by saving a 7-6 victory vs Central Baptist. Over the weekend, he earned a save in the opener vs UAM by needing only five pitches to record a 1-2-3 inning. He gained a win after two scoreless frames in game two and his third save, in another perfect outing, in game three.

- Brandon Cuddy, Sr., 1B, Oklahoma Baptist (Doubled three times in 12 at bats; slugged 1.167 over his four games)
- Kevin Fitzpatrick, Sr., LF, Arkansas-Monticello (Went 5-for-9 with four runs batted in against Harding)
- Blake King, So., C, Arkansas Tech (Hit .333 with all three hits going for extra bases)
- Hunter Mayall, Sr., 1B, Henderson State (Helped Reddies sweep Northwestern Oklahoma State; hit .556 and stole two bases)
- Jacob Spring, Sr., OF, Southwestern Oklahoma State (Posted two five-RBI games; homered twice with 12 RBIs for the week)
- Corban Taylor, Sr., 1B, Southeastern Oklahoma State (Homered and drove in six runs against Oklahoma Baptist)
- Kaleb Matthews, Jr., INF, East Central (Hit. 571 with two doubles, five runs and five RBI as the Tigers posted a 4-0 record)
- Justin Weigle, Jr., SS, Ouachita (Collected seven hits in 15 at bats with two home runs, five RBIs and four runs scored)
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES
- Quinton Dougherty, Jr., RHP, Southwestern Oklahoma State (Recorded a win and two saves; struck out four in 4.2 IP)
- Zach Eschberger, Fr., LHP, Henderson State (Struck out six in 6.0 shutout innings against Northwestern Oklahoma State)
- Dylan Sanchez, Jr., RHP, East Central (Defeated Dallas Christian by striking out eight in 8.1 innings of work)
- Zach Skelton, Sr., RHP, Arkansas Tech (Recorded a complete-game victory against SAU; struck out 10)
- Landon Simpson, Sr., RHP, Southern Arkansas (Helped SAU earn series victory vs Arkansas Tech by winning series finale)
- Nathan Thompson, Sr., LHP, Oklahoma Baptist (Recorded 13 strikeouts over seven innings vs Southeastern Oklahoma State)
