GAC MEN’S TRACK & FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK (4/19/2017)

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league’s Athletes of the Week for the final week of the men’s outdoor track & field season. Oklahoma Baptist’s Devontrae Young claimed the Track award and Southern Nazarene’s Colin Pasque earned the Field honor.
GAC MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Devontrae Young, Oklahoma Baptist, So., Lawton, Oklahoma
At the K.T. Woodman Classic, Young met the NCAA Division II provisional standard in the 200 meters in 21.35, the 26th-fastest time in DII this year. He placed 12th out of 66 partipiants. He also ran the second leg of the 4x100 meter relay team that finished fifth.
GAC MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Colin Pasque, Southern Nazarene, Sr., Norman, Oklahoma
Pasque reached the NCAA Division II Provisional mark in the pole vault when he cleared 4.96 meters at the K.T. Woodman Classic in Wichita. He took third in the event out of 23 competitors, and first among DII athletes. He ranks sixth in the nation in the event.
